Hello, my name is Christine and I'm glad you've found your way to my company, Zed & Co.
I started Zed & Co in 2015 following an unsuccessful search for simple, but not totally plain placemats. Unwilling to compromise, and with a gentle nudge from my now grown up children, I decided to design my own, a decision that ultimately led me to create an entire range of high quality kitchen accessories. I’ve since added bone china mugs and jugs, kitchen textiles and hand finished wooden trays to the original placemats and coasters.
I’ve always had a love of design and I’m drawn to all things minimalist and uncluttered, whether objects, buildings or interiors. Zed & Co has enabled me to express both the creative and design sides of my personality. At Zed & Co I’ve combined simple designs with a range of timeless and elegant colours to create products that can be mixed and matched to fit seamlessly into any kitchen.
I’m proud that my products are manufactured in the UK, largely in locations where the relevant industries were first established. The placemats and coasters are printed and made in Lincolnshire. The bone china mugs are screen-printed and decorated in Stoke-on-Trent. The textiles are printed and sewn in Lancashire. The trays are printed and hand finished locally in Sussex.
Inspiration for my designs comes from our lovely garden and the hedgerows and countryside around Sussex. Designs include a dandelion, pineapple, poppy head, leaf stem, hedgehog and hare, each in a range of background colours of subtle blues, greens and greys.
